We're currently experiencing very high volumes of requests for building inspections.

If you've already requested an inspection, you don’t need to do anything further – we'll be in touch as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience.

Before you make your booking, please refer to the following to ensure you have the information ready to make your booking:

Heating unit (wood burner) inspections are always in high demand. Please book a wood burner inspection by phoning us on 03 941 8222 or 0800 800 169.

Is this inspection for a multi-unit building?

Note: An Inspections Support staff member may confirm with you if your inspection can be done remotely when you book it and will provide guidance on the process and system requirements.

Would you like a remote inspection?
Is this inspection type heating unit – final (solid or liquid fuel heater)?
Is this inspection type foundation or slab, concrete construction or blockwork (blockwork construction)?
Does the inspection type include plumbing and/or drainage?
Is this a residential or commercial building inspection?
Is there restricted building work involved?
Will the Licensed Building Practitioner be on site?

If the LBP will not be on site at the time of the inspection, what is the phone number our inspector can contact them on?

Please note that inspections are only carried out between 8am and 5pm on Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. If an inspector is unavailable on the date or time you have requested you will be contacted to arrange another time.

Morning or afternoon?
Would you like 30 minutes notice via a phone call or text?
If the approved building consent documents are not available on-site the inspection will be failed and you will need to rebook another inspection for which additional charges will apply
