All camping grounds must comply with the Camping Ground Regulations 1985 unless a special exemption for some aspects has been granted by the Council.

The 2024/2025 fee for a certificate of registration is $417.
Before opening a new camping ground, or taking over an existing camping ground, email healthadmin@ccc.govt.nz to discuss your plans.
Our Environmental Health Officers can assist you with advice and information, or undertake inspections, such as:.
- If it is appropriate for you to operate your business at the address.
- Operating requirements in the area, including parking and lighting.
- Whether you need resource consent.
