Millbrook Reserve Walk

From the car park, head into this small but stunning reserve and make your way past formal gardens full of azaleas and rhododendrons. Stop to check out the Abel Tasman memorial and then continue on through a dark canopy of native trees and shrubs.

From here make your way back but this time take the river path that begins near the pergola and follow it along the river until you arrive back by the car park where you began. Take care as this path can be muddy and slippery when wet and is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

For a longer walk, instead of turning back at the end of the reserve, cross the historic Helmores Lane Bridge and take a left into Little Hagley Park. From here follow the river along to the next footbridge which will take you back to the Millbrook Reserve car park.
