Ernle Clark Reserve walk

Start at Earnlea Terrace (opposite South Library, Colombo Street). You can often see a pair of white swans here outside the private residence Swan Lake; affectionately known as Sam and Samantha. They can be quite aggressive so don't get too close!

Follow the formed gravel path beside the river through Ernle Clark, a beautiful woodland reserve. Halfway through the reserve you will see a turnoff for Thorrington Reserve and playground. At the Barrington Street end of the reserve you can carefully cross the busy Cashmere Road to reach Cashmere Valley Reserve and its fabulous playground.

For a longer walk, you can continue along beside the river on sealed footpaths in either direction and explore a number of small riverside reserves as part of the Heathcote River Track.
