Provides lived-experience advice to help Council embed multicultural perspectives, equity and belonging as core considerations in Council planning, decision-making, projects and services.
The Multicultural Advisory Group provides advice and consultation to Council on matters relating to multicultural communities by:
- Providing impartial and informed advice to support Council decision-making, engagement and consultation on issues affecting multicultural communities.
- Advising Council of the views, concerns, aspirations and experiences of Christchurch's diverse communities.
- Raising awareness of the aspirations, needs and concerns of multicultural communities within Council and the wider community.
- Facilitating interaction between the diverse cultural profiles of all residents in Christchurch communities.
