The Community Housing Strategy takes its lead from the Council’s overall Housing Policy(external link), which prioritises housing as a human right.

Underpinned with collaborative leadership for a city-wide outlook, the strategy frames community housing as central to the city’s fabric and wellbeing.

Its vision: Community housing as a foundation of housing and wellbeing in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
