Details

We’re replacing the watermain and submain pipes along Mt Pleasant Road.

The first stage of work starts on Monday 14 September and will take approximately one month to complete. Contractors will be working between the Billys Track intersection and 187 Mt Pleasant Road. They will then progress up Mt Pleasant Road towards Bellview Terrace, trenching and laying new pipes in sections (see graphic below).

Further Start Work Notices will be issued as the works progress and road closures move further up the road past 187 Mt Pleasant Road, keeping residents informed of the upcoming works and associated impacts.

The entire project is expected to be completed in mid-December.

Mt Pleasant road closure

To allow the work to go ahead safely, sections of Mt Pleasant Road will be closed to through traffic. As contractors progress along the road trenching and laying new pipes, the road closure area will shift. Detour routes will be signposted.

Resident access

Contractors will be working from 7.30am until 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. During this time, temporary traffic management staff will be on site to manage traffic flow and assist with any access needs. Outside working hours, residents within the road closure area and authorised vehicles can still access their properties; please follow the on-site signage.

Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained; however, in some instances, access to individual properties may need to be temporarily restricted or unavailable while works are undertaken. Our site crew will communicate directly with you if your property is affected and provide as much notice as possible.

Please let us know if you have large vehicle movements, business-critical movements, or specific access needs (for example, medical appointments), so we can plan around these where possible.

Parking restrictions

There will be some temporary on-street parking restrictions during the work. Please park outside the work area or on your property. Parking restricitions will be signposted. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Weather and ground conditions

Please note:

  • Construction works are weather dependent.
  • Dates may vary due to unpredictable ground conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

Keeping you updated

We will keep residents updated as work progresses along the corridor. If the programme or working hours change significantly, we will let you know ahead of time.
