Details
Work on your road
We will be resurfacing the road with a chip seal surface. This work will be completed in two days. Please note, the start date may extend by up to 2–3 days, depending on weather and site conditions. We will also be back for two rounds of sweeping – the first scheduled 48 hours after the resurfacing and the second scheduled one week later.
What you need to know
Traffic Impacts
- The road will be under a Stop/Go Setup during work hours on the day of the resurfacing. Vehicle access to your property may be impacted at times
- On-street parking will be impacted – please take notice of the ‘No parking’ signs, which will be put out in advance of the work.
- Please let the contractor know if you have any specific requirements for property access, such as for medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries or other planned work on your property.
Please be aware of the following hazards:
- Movement of construction equipment in and around the site.
- Emulsion is a hot product and is applied at 80–90 degrees Celsius.
- We advise staying inside your property during the application process, to keep everyone safe. This includes keeping children and pets indoors when this work is being carried out.
- Emulsion is an extremely sticky product when first applied. Please check all footwear before entering your property. Emulsion can be removed from shoes etc. by using warm soapy water.
After we’ve finished working:
- Loose aggregate (small stones) will remain on the road for a few days after the work is done. This is necessary to allow the stones to properly embed into the surface, which helps create a strong, long-lasting road surface. Please take extra care when driving, walking, or cycling.
- We’ll be back to sweep the site and reinstate line markings within 48 hours of finishing work, but we may be delayed if the weather is cold or wet.
- You may notice loose aggregate on the road over the next few months, while the surface continues to settle. Our crews will carry out regular checks and arrange for extra surface sweeping if needed.

Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
