What |
Before resurfacing, we carry out 'pre-seal' repairs on streets to fix small issues and improve drainage. We often complete these repairs up to a year before the resurfacing to ensure the road is safe and provides good value for the community in the meantime. |
|---|---|
Why |
We aim to maintain all our roads so that they are safe, better to drive on and last longer. Maintenance reduces the likelihood of potholes and improves overall road condition. |
Where |
Lewis Street, between Hoon Hay Road and Wyn Street, Hoon Hay. |
When |
The work is expected to start on 14 September 2026 and finish on 25 September 2026. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent). |
Contact |
The contractor is Higgins Construction. Phone 027 285 2023 (general enquiries) or 027 306 7853 (project specific enquiries), Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. |
Details
Our contractor will be repairing cracks, potholes and other road damage. Once the repairs have had time to settle, we'll come back to apply the final surfacing layer over the whole area. It may be up to 12 months before you see us back to finish the job, and we'll be in touch again before we do.
What you need to know
- On street parking will be impacted, please take notice of the ‘No Parking’ signs which will be put out in advance of the work. If vehicles remain in the work area they will be towed to a nearby location outside the work area. On road parking will be unavailable during the work hours of 7am-6pm.
- You will still have access to your property or workplace during the work period. Footpath access will remain open.
- A signed detour will be in place to guide road users around the worksite.
- Please let the contractor know if you have any specific requirements for property access, i.e. medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries or other planned work on your property.
- Residue from new surfaces like asphalt and chipseal can stick to your shoes or car tyres, please be mindful of this when entering your garage or home.
- The work may cause noise and vibrations at times, our contractor will keep this to a minimum.
- Work will be rescheduled if the weather is not suitable.
We know roadworks can be disruptive, and we’re grateful for your cooperation and understanding.
