Details
Work on your road
We will be resurfacing the road and asphalt, working at night to minimise the disruption to businesses and residents.
This work is being coordinated with the wastewater renewal project being undertaken by Dormer Construction further along Wairakei Road.
What you need to know
- A one-way traffic system will be in place at night while our contractor is working, for citybound traffic. A detour will be in place for west-bound traffic, please see map below for details.
- During the day the road will be open to two-way traffic.
- On-street parking will be impacted, please take notice of the ‘No parking’ signs, which will be put out in advance of the work.
- Access to your property will be available at all times, although there may be short delays. Footpath access will remain open.
- Please let the contractor know if you have any specific requirements for property access, such as for medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries or other planned work on your property.
- Asphalt contains hot bitumen. Always keep a safe distance from paving operations and never approach hot materials.
- Residue from the new surfaces can stick to your shoes or car tyres, please be mindful of this when entering your garage or home.
- The work may cause noise and vibrations at times, our contractor will keep this to a minimum.
- Work will be rescheduled if the weather is not suitable.
- Line marking is generally completed within 24 hours but could be delayed due to bad weather. Please take care when approaching intersections as limit lines may not have been reinstated yet.

Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
