Details
Stage 4 – Ensors Road (Ferry Road to Sullivan Avenue)
Work moves to Ensors Road, southbound, on the eastern side of the road between Ferry Road and Sullivan Avenue. Crews continue constructing the cycleway and footpath improvements.
When
Work on stage four starts on 15th September 2026. Work will take up to four weeks (weather dependent).
Work includes
- installation of separator kerbs
- new kerb crossings and footpath improvements
- tactile paving
- cycle-safe stormwater sump lids
- new road hump at MacKenzie Avenue
- mountable kerb islands at Sullivan Avenue
- road humps, coloured surfacing and line marking.
Traffic impacts
- Road closures: MacKenzie Avenue and Sullivan Avenue, at the Ensors Road intersections, will need to be closed for approximately 10 working days each while works are completed. A road closure notice will be provided 1 week prior advising the preferred detour route.
- Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work area.
- A temporary bus stop will be provided while the existing stop is relocated.
- Limited on-road parking while work is underway.
- Pedestrian and vehicle access with be maintained with directional signage.
Information for residents
- Access for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists to impacted properties within our worksite will be maintained.
- Please advise our team if you have specific requirements e.g. medical visits, large deliveries, home help or any planned works.
- There’ll be increased construction noise and vibration at times. We’ll do our best to keep this to a minimum.
- The work will have no impact on any services such as water, electricity, telecommunications and gas.
- The timing of the work and certain activities will depend on the weather and the roads.
- Please put your bins out as usual by 6am on collection day.

Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
