Ngaio Track is either accessed from Governors Bay via Titoki Track or use the trail as an alternative descent if you've been exploring higher up the slopes.

While Titoki Track largely follows a bush covered stream gully, Ngaio Track offers a pleasant alternative route mostly along a more open ridge. If descending, you leave Titoki Track shortly after the junction with South Boundary and rejoin close to the end of the track at Bay Heights in Governors Bay. Combine with Titoki for an interesting loop of less than an hour and a taste of what Ohinetahi has to offer. The tracks in Ohinetahi are managed by the Summit Road Society(external link).
